My Life’s Savior

------------------------

Within my heart a storm builds
waves of agony
heartaches
disappointments
with never-ending trials
crash endlessly into me.

The pounding of my thoughts
like waves breaking against my soul.

I scream aloud
unable to feel the storm
watching my life slowly slipping away.

I am a ship lost at sea
drowning within my own despair
submersed along with my sorrows
slowly sinking.

My tears begin to swirl
creating a whirlpool of misery
taking me under for the last time.

Unable to keep afloat
I'm beaten
harsh salt swept winds
blow across my wind-burned face.

I taste the bitterness of my heart
which has turned from love
to acrid hate.

Yet out in the distance
I hear a tender voice
softly
ever so faint
gentle within the storm.

A voice to save me
from this surge
of sorrows
that still has faith in me.

And my tears come unbidden.

Cried Me A River

While in the distance a silhouette walks along this rivers shore
it is that of a woman who reminds me of my love
she is unaware of me lying here in this green meadow
as my memories of you flows downstream from my heart.

The sun beating down upon my face within this day
as I gaze up to the heavens past these angel-like clouds
I am reminded of our walks as we held each other’s hand
while in the distance a silhouette walks along this rivers shore.

The gentle breezes blowing across my face
carries a fragrance of the gentle jasmine flower
whose tender scent triggers memories within my mind
it is that of a woman who reminds me of my love.

This very meadow that we would walk and caress
as I lay my face against the beautiful green grass
thinking of all those days long ago as I cry endlessly
she is unaware of me lying here in this green meadow.

As this silhouette walks along this rivers shore
she is unaware of my heartache in my solitude
for this river emanates from tears pouring from my eyes
as my memories of you flows downstream from my heart.

About Nick
The APLS wouldn't exist if it weren't for the ingenuity of Nick Tamborra, who forsaw the disintigration of the APE and broke off to form the APLS with a single vision in mind - create a place where amatuer poets could come together to learn their craft in a supportive environment,.

And he pulled it off.

The APLS is that and much, much more. It has also become a sort of online family for many of the members, a place where socializing is as important to them as posting their work.

A place called "home."

I Join You This Day (Tamborra Sonnet Style)

------------------------------------------------------

This empty room as I cry here alone
within my shattered dreams while standing here
my memories of you now shed this tear
missing my one true love my heart has known.

I am frightened of my life without you
for you were delivered my love stillborn
gazing upon your empty crib I mourn
seeing no other reason I withdrew.

Accepting this fate as I now smiled
I feel the icy grip of fear growing
but I am comforted in now knowing
that I will be joining you my dear child.

This empty room as I cry here alone
missing my one true love my heart has known.
